We are delighted to announce that Kathy Wright will be starting work with the Scotland Malawi Partnership from 5th June 2017 as Member Services Manager, succeeding Charlie Bevan.

Kathy, pictured here (left) promoting solar energy in Malawi, has a wealth of expertise she brings to the Partnership. She has nine years’ experience in international development, including with SolarAid and the International Union against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease.

Her first encounter with Malawi came when working for SolarAid which had one of its first programmes in the north of Malawi. In this role she had the opportunity to visit Malawi and was soon hooked!

Having grown up in Africa, the South Pacific and the Middle East, Kathy went on to study Mathematics and Human Geography at Durham University. She qualified as a primary school teacher and taught in the UK, Tanzania and Vanuatu.

Kathy said:

“I am thrilled to be joining the Scotland Malawi Partnership and to have the opportunity to contribute to the fantastic work it does. I am passionate about collaboration and learning, and hope to bring my enthusiasm and experience to the different aspects of this role. I am very much looking forward to meeting everyone and learning more about all the diverse links our members have with Malawi."
