BITT Forum with DFID

The agenda will focus on some common areas of interest identified as: agri-based trade and enabling business environment.

As a follow on action from a meeting between the Head of DFID Malawi (Jen Marshall) and SMP members in July 2015 it was agreed to explore the opportunity of holding a joint SMP-DFID meeting in 2015/16.

In December and January we have had some productive discussions with DFID on this and we now have an opportunity to do this joint forum.

The agenda will focus on some common areas of interest identified as: agri-based trade and enabling business environment.

Venue: DFID HQ, East Kilbride

Date: Feb 25th

Time: 12pm-2pm

Please note: places are limited so please register your interest as soon as possible by emailing Keith Bohannon.

As per the original action it was agreed that meeting should focus on a working level discussion with the aims:

1. to connect DFID staff and SMP members working on PSD / sustainable economic development in Malawi;

2. to share learning from this work from both DFID and SMP members – two way exchange;

3. to identify areas where there is potential for future collaboration.

In order to facilitate two-way dialogue the meeting will be in the format of a video conference kindly hosted at DFID East Kilbride with a video link up to DFID Malawi.

While the forum is open to all due to the format and venue we will only have a limited number of spaces available so members are requested to express an interest in attending. Please note that we will include an agenda item for the May forum to feed back on the meeting to the wider group.
