UK-Malawi Chamber of Commerce Launched

The SMP was delighted to support the official launch of the UK-Malawi Chamber of Commerce on the 17th November. This is only the sixth UK-Africa bilateral Chamber and a significant step in the development of UK-Malawi business and trade.
The SMP has been a founding member of the UK-Malawi Business Group Executive Committee and we are delighted the group has fully transitioned now to be a Chamber of Commerce. We will continue to support the Chamber of Commerce, however we can.
Speaking in a recorded message at the launch, His Excellency Lazarus Chakwera, President of Malawi, said:
“As we witness the birth of the Malawi-UK Chamber of Commerce, I must congratulate the Malawi-UK Business Group for this milestone. But now the real work must begin! As Government of Malawi we have made great strides to widen the door of trade between our country and the UK. Not only to leverage the development partnership we have had since independence but also to maximise our membership of the Commonwealth.”
